Discussants: Brothers Maurice and Neal of the PRSP and Brother Sele Adeyemi (St. Thomas)
“A strong and powerful nation of peoples of African descent in the West Indies would . . . give a strong fillip to the efforts we in Africa have been making towards the creation of a united Africa.” Kwame Nkrumah, “Letter from President Kwame Nkrumah to the West Indian Heads of Government,” 7th June, 1962
Pan-African and Revolutionary Greetings:
The Pan-African Revolutionary Socialist Party (PRSP) hopes that this email finds you well and welcomes you to another African Must Unite Podcast on the theme: “Nkrumaism: Shining the Way Forward Through the Crisis in Today’s African World”.
Click one of the links below to join us this month, October 2024, for our Africa Must Unite Podcast # 82 as we discuss “The Need to Unify the Caribbean”.
Listen in as Brother Maurice and our special guest, Brother Sele Adeyemi, discuss important information on the rich history of the many attempts to unify the Caribbean. Brother Maurice not only talks about Nkrumah’s letter to the heads of state of the West Indies urging them to unify, but also Maurice Bishop (Grenada) who stated, “We are one people from one Caribbean with one struggle and one destiny.” Brother Adeyemi reminds us of the creation of the West Indian Federation in 1958 and even earlier attempts to form unity as well as a number of those who came from the Caribbean to New York and struggled for the independence of and the federation of Caribbean nations. He teaches us too about the dearth of progressive forces reflected in the current reality of the Caribbean.
We hope that you will not only listen to this important podcast on the many efforts to forge a unified Caribbean, but also share it with your contacts.
We are convinced that a Union of African Socialist States is on the Horizon!
Forward ever!
