Liberation Movement Kenya

LIBERATION MOVEMENT KENYA (LMK) is a Socio-Political liberation vehicle grounded on the following 5 pillars/tenets;

  1. Consciousness and Togetherness (Utu /Ubuntu/Undugu)
  2. Self -Determinism: respect for the principle of equal rights and fair equality of opportunity, have the right to freely choose sovereignty and international political status with no interference.
  3. Self –Reliance (Kujitegemea): an economic development model based on OWN resources and south-south (Pan-African) cooperation. The aim is to become less dependent of the core states of the capitalist world economy. The scarcity of resources, crises and the persistence of uneven development, locally and globally, necessitates pursuant of this economic model.
  4. Direct democracy / Grassroots Participatory Democracy (Nguvu Mashinani): shifting and devolving as much decision-making as practical to the lowest social level of organization. People/Community driven political processes and governance. Centering power at the grassroots.
  5. Panafricanism / Nationalism (Hadhi/Uzalendo): it reflects a range of political views. At a basic level, it is the belief that Afrikan peoples, both on the Afrikan continent and in the Diaspora (despite their diverse ethnic nations and cultural practices), share not merely a common history, but a common destiny. “Afrika Moja. Afrika Huru.”
