What is the PRSP? Document for Calendar 2022 and Howard University

The PRSP hopes that this email finds you safe and well. Although you are familiar with our organization, we have attached a document, “What is the PRSP?”, in case it may prove helpful in introducing the PRSP to other organizations, coalitions, alliances, and movements and in encouraging them to contribute a one-page submission on the current reality of our people to our calendar 2022.  The theme as you know is “The African World on Fire!”
(For your convenience, we’ve also attached, again, the letter of invitation that we hope you will share with these groups.)
The PRSP has been producing calendars, annually, since 1984 on themes that reflect the current reality of African people.
We thought too that we should share with you an exciting fact:  All of our calendars from 1984 through 2014 have been donated to the Moorland-Spingarn Research Center at Howard University in Washington, DC (usa).  The name of the collection of PRSP calendars at Howard U is “Nkrumaist Calendar Collection” and all calendars were donated/received in August 2014.
The calendars from 2015 through 2022 will also be donated to the Center.  We are especially excited because the 2022 calendar, we hope, will prove to be one of our most impressive endeavors to date.
We hope that your organization is just as excited as we are to present the world with the facts about our enemy’s life-killing impact on all African people, no matter where we happen to be born or to live in the world.
A Union of African Socialist States is not only possible; it’s coming!!!

What is the Pan-African Revolutionary Socialist Party (PRSP)?

The Pan-African Revolutionary Socialist Party (PRSP) is a revolutionary organization committed to bringing about Pan-Africanism: the liberation and unification of Africa under socialism.  The PRSP is convinced that this is the only permanent solution to the exploitation and oppression experienced by African people throughout the world.

  • The PRSP was founded in 1983 by dedicated militants born in different parts of the world.
  • The PRSP believes that “all peoples of African descent, whether they live in North or South America, the Caribbean, or in any other part of the world are Africans and belong to the African nation” (Kwame Nkrumah, Class Struggle in Africa, p. 87f).
  • The PRSP recognizes capitalism (in all its manifestations, including neo-colonialism, settler-colonialism and domestic colonialism) as the primary enemy of African people and all exploited and oppressed people in the world.
  • The PRSP knows that gender oppression, along with national oppression (racism), is the birth child of capitalism in all of its forms and thus is an evil that must be completely destroyed.
  • The PRSP understands that although the basic problem facing Africans is economic exploitation, the only solution is a political one: the achievement of Pan-Africanism.

Today, the struggle for Africa is imperative.  It requires the defeat of neo-colonialism, the defeat of all of those who look African, speak like Africans, and act like Africans, but who have no interest in the development of Africa for all of its people, no matter where they happen to be born or to live in the world.

Pan-African and Revolutionary Greetings Africans:

The Pan-African Revolutionary Socialist Party (PRSP) hopes that this email finds you all well.  PRSP is planning its 2022 calendar.  This year’s theme is “The African World on Fire!”  We think that you’ll agree that it is a timely theme.

We’d like to focus on the current, material reality of our people, a reality caused by our enemy, capitalism, in all of its manifestations:  neo-colonialism, settler-colonialism and domestic colonialism.  We are inviting the participation of individual Pan-African organizations as well as Pan-African coalitions and alliances such as yours to contribute to calendar 2022.  As you know from past communications, most of us agree that the time for building coalitions and alliances is never more important than it is today.

We hope that your organization, coalition and/or alliance will accept this invitation to submit a one-page Word document that reflects the current reality of our people in your state/country and which includes a photograph of that reality for our 2022 calendar. Your submission will appear as one of the 12 months of 2022.  Also, we are asking that you submit your logo so that we can include it as well.  In gratitude, PRSP will send to you a complimentary online calendar to share with all of your members.

The due date for submissions is Friday, October 22, 2021.

Finally, we’d appreciate it if you could share with, or submit the names of, other Pan-African organizations, coalitions and/or alliances, by September 24, 2021, that you think would be interested in participating in the development of the 2022 calendar.

Thank you so much in advance for considering this invitation.

Forward ever,  doreatha mbalia, member
